Conventional ‘gourmet’ food tours in Scotland tend towards high-end food, a rather idealised version of Scotland’s larder, and are skewed towards predictable cliches: haggis, shortbread and whisky. I believe there are opportunities to go deeper and escape the stereotypes. I’m looking to create journeys in both urban and rural settings that explore contemporary Scottish culture and society through food, connecting to landscapes, communities, stories, people and real-world issues, challenges and ideas.
